Slip Masterbatch

What is Slip Masterbatch?

We produce high-performance slip systems to ensure maximum processability in production lines by reducing the coefficient of friction in plastic film, packaging, and injection molding processes. Our advanced engineering formulations based on erucamide and oleamide migrate from the polymer melt to the surface in a controlled manner, creating a microscopic lubrication layer. This technological structure minimizes the friction of the polymer with metal surfaces and its own layers.

These series, prepared with precise tolerances in our production facilities, ensure smooth sliding of films in high-speed packaging machines while bringing the torque opening force to ideal levels in cap and closure applications. We offer long-term surface slip and excellent mold release performance with an optimized migration rate without spoiling the optical clarity and heat seal properties of the polymer.

Recommended Dosage

  • In standard plastic film and packaging applications: 1.0% - 2.0%
  • In injection molding, cap, and closure (torque opening) applications: 1.5% - 2.5%
  • In high-speed packaging machines and special processes: 2.0% - 3.0%

Applications and Effects on the Final Product

Applications / Application Areas

  • High-speed automatic packaging (FFS) films and food packaging
  • Polyolefin (PE, PP) bags, sacks and lamination films
  • Beverage and water bottle caps (reducing torque inside PP/HDPE caps)
  • Injection molded thin-walled containers, buckets and medical syringes
  • Cable sheaths and corrugated/telecom ducts through which cables are pulled

Affected Properties / Effects on the Final Product

  • Coefficient of friction (COF): Rapidly lowers the surface coefficient of friction below 0.20, providing smooth slip.
  • Cap opening torque: Ensures that beverage caps can be opened by the consumer easily and with a standard force.
  • Scratch and abrasion resistance: Prevents surface dulling caused by parts rubbing against each other.
  • Prevention of sticking and jamming: Prevents nested (stacked) plastic buckets, cups and containers from vacuum-locking and jamming into each other.
  • Gloss and surface quality: Gives the product a smooth, silky touch and surface gloss.

Effect on the Process and Production Line

  • Allows the film to run at maximum speed on packaging and filling machines without catching on metal collars.
  • Allows complex parts to be released easily from injection molds without deforming (mold release effect).
